Redefining the Australian Kiosk

Pipis is a contemporary Australian kiosk run by Jordan Clay and Tom Hunter, located in Albert Park. Small and Co was approached to develop a brand identity that echo’d the thinking behind the name; relaxed, accessible and approachable. We achieved an aesthetic that was refined yet unpretentious, leaving Tom and Jordan to surprise and exceed customer’s expectations through the dining experience.

For the logo we referenced the lifesaving flags found on popular Australian shorelines. Alternating, perpendicular angles are used to reference the fluidity of the flags, while simultaneously referencing the laid back attitude of Australian beach-goers.

We worked alongside Melbourne illustrator, Sam Merrigan, to create a suite of illustrations referencing Australian seafood. Incorporating textural elements to our line-style drawings helped to elevate our visual style while referencing the textural elements of Australian shorelines.

Pipis Kiosk is open for dining Thursday to Saturday, midday ’til late, while the Kiosk is open for takeaway from 7am everyday. We’d highly recommend the Fish Finger Sandwich.
